The reno I am doing now was built in 1960 and had all single pane throughout, including a 20’ wall that was almost all glazed. Had a heat pump, boiler fired baseboard heaters, and propane stove, and could still barely keep up when it got into the teens. 🤦🏻♂️
Replaced everything with custom...
Nothing to it. But it’s a sensitive spot. Mine was more a blow to my ego.
They had me up in the freaking stirrups, spread eagle. I hadn’t been told to shave. Doc was disappointed and did it himself. 🤦🏻♂️ Then dumped what felt like a gallon of iodine on me. Just a quick but very uncomfortable...
Hmm. Doesn’t seem like they’re sending it east of the Mississippi. Even Virginia’s most reliable retailer said they haven’t seen it since ‘22, and were told not to expect it in ‘24. … May have to try to trade for some on vaguntrader.
And yeah, $89 for 8oz is stupid expensive. Too bad Triple 7 is...
We rented a house for a year that had a geothermal heat pump with closed pond loop. Never paid more than $150/mo in utilities, dead of summer or middle of winter. That’s all I know about them. I would look into it more if I was building.
15 mile paddle on the beautiful Shenandoah. Got 8 geese amongst us. They are just starting to pair off, so still mainly flocks of a dozen or so. My buddy’s 1 yr old lab got his first live retrieves and did awesome. My chessie sometimes struggles with big mean crippled honkers, but this time she...
Correct. I’ve heard you can damage a full choke barrel shooting steel through it bc it’s not malleable like the other shot options. Didn’t know if there was any truth to that.
Until the report back, I will throw on a related question: any issues using steel through a full choke? I’ve read differing opinions. I usually shoot Boss 3/5’s, but have 5-6 boxes of steel just sitting in the closet collecting dust (BB, #2, #4).
I used the 300gr platinum powerbelts on two deer. Heart and lung shot the first and it didn't go 15 yards. But high shouldered a second big buck at 40 yards and didn't have good results: knocked it down immediately (literally flipped it off its feet), but it then got up and ran away with zero...
I use the 3” Boss 20ga shells in 3/5 for ducks and they have always performed well. I switch to 3” 12ga in 3/5 when geese may be encountered as well. This is river float/jump shooting.
Ashland, KY. Right off 64W. Had to sign a paper acknowledging that there was a train nearby… didn’t specify it would be coming by EVERY hour throughout the night, shaking the whole place and sound blasting past the almost non-existent weather-stripping. I am a light sleeper. Didn’t get a wink...
The particular books of his I've read so far haven't featured what I would consider hyper masculine characters (Dalva, The Road Home, Brown Dog, and the 3 short stories in Legends of the Fall) but it's granted a very limited sampling. Though "Revenge", the first story in LotF, I am pretty sure...
