Seems pretty straightforward to me: dedicate the whole month of September to elk, October for moose, November for deer. Maybe throw in a few days in August and December for antelope and you’re good!

This is an interesting observation and I think it also comes down to the opportunity vs quality discussion. The way I see it, there is much more opportunity out west to hunt mule deer/elk. Even the “quality” tags tend to be easier to draw, where as the limited elk tags out east are on a lottery...
Well shoot. I put in for tags I figured I’d be guaranteed to draw based on last year’s stats. Instead I’ve got nothing for deer! Time to start thinking about the leftover list
I fish for cats in a big reservoir near me every summer. I’ve tried all types of stink baits, hot dogs, chicken livers, worms…. Never catch anything on that smelly stuff.
We kill them with fresh bluegill! Dead cut bait, or live work even better.
Tag numbers are set yearly by biologists, after spring classification counts. Tag Prices rise with inflation.
There will be mandatory harvest reporting. You have to report harvest from the previous year to apply. You have to show shooting competency and qualify with weapons you plan on hunting...
