I used CORE4ELEMENT merino wool base layers the past couple seasons. Very comfortable and really keeps the stink down. Great for backcountry hunting. Most of my synthetic clothes never leave storage anymore.
I think the savage is called the Bear Hunter. Seems like a nice rifle. Does a rifle with that break shoot the same with the break on and off? Might be a dumb question, but I've always wondered.
I guess I should have said prior to the larger scope and break. Don't have an actual weight but for sure lighter than my win mag was. I went kinda overboard with the scope but really enjoy the higher power.
This hunt sounds fun for sure. I see most of my bears in the evenings, but I try to hunt all day because bears are active in the spring. The red bull can help with the long hours while bear hunting.
