I agree with both guys above. Dress warm and be where the elk are going to be before light and or before dark. The weather will help them stay out later and come out earlier in the afternoon. Take a thermos with something warm in it if need be. Good luck
I drew my one and only general elk tag and researched the heck out of the units I liked. I have a plan A and a plan B but my plan C was going to be Unit 2. I researched it on every forum, called biologist and game wardens and I can't come up with anything. So, i had given up on that area...
I been there 5 times over the last 12 years and I think there are less elk in general every time I go there and not as many big ones. Could be weather related each year also. Last year I know a guide that went and he never filled his tag because he was looking for a 360 bull and couldn't find one.
