I have the 60 Swaro and prefer it over the 80 (having hunted with both). Personally I prefer having the smaller size in the pack and havent found myself wishing I had the 80 objective in the field for my purposes.
I've got one and havent packed any meat in it, but I'd imagine 25-30lbs would be about all I'd really want in it as is without frame. Shed hunting, day pack, etc its great and in combination with a frame it would be suitable for some good loads and keeping your gear separate with the meat...
If you're looking at BC then you are likely not looking at something that's 'affordable/repeatable' as nearly all BC caribou hunting will be fly-in or deep horseback mountain caribou hunting. There are a few 'fringe' areas with some caribou hunting but I've never seen what I'd call a 'cheap'...
Hard not to bank points when you're chasing stones and bighorns every year, pronghorn in AB, and various other mountain hunts like fly in caribou and moose haha. Good problems to have!
