Burris veracity PH and Trijicon Acupoint opinions

Maybe so. I just knew the big difference was battery illumination versus tritium and fiber optics with the Accupoints. Regardless, I don’t think you could go wrong with one of the Trijicon offerings. If I was in the market today, I’d be getting one of their Ten Miles.

2023 Ended on a High Note!

Yes, I will but haven't yet. It was so warm that day (got up to like 85) that I was more concerned with getting him broken down and caped out. I guess we'll find out next summer after I get him back from the taxidermist.

2023 Ended on a High Note!

2023 has been good to me (first bow kill, first mule deer, biggest whitetail to date) and it’s not lost on me that seasons like this don’t come around all that often. To say I’m feeling very grateful is an understatement! Thanks for reading.

2023 Ended on a High Note!

There’s a good chance I go the rest of my life hunting down there without killing a buck better than this one.

2023 Ended on a High Note!

I don’t even put the binos back in my chest harness, I just dump them in my Dad’s lap. I get the gun up, get on the deer and take the safety off (already had a round in the chamber). He has worked to the middle of the shooting lane and has stopped on his own watching all of the other deer...

2023 Ended on a High Note!

Saturday morning we were up early and headed out well before shooting light to get in the stand. We decide to sit together that morning. We settle in, get some extra ZZZs, and wait for daylight. As it’s getting light enough to see with binos, we already notice some deer milling around. Shooting...

2023 Ended on a High Note!

Well, he wasn’t lying. Wow, this deer is nice! Probably one of the best ones we’ve gotten on camera down there. Now I’m even more excited. Even though I realize the chances are slim that I get an opportunity on him, I decide at this point that it’s this deer or bust for me (helps when you...

2023 Ended on a High Note!

When Dad got down there, he pulled the SD card out of one of the game cameras we have to see what kind of activity there had been since we had been down last. Pre-rut was definitely starting over Thanksgiving so we were hopeful it would be “full-on” now that it was a couple weeks later. He...

2023 Ended on a High Note!

The buck my cousin was after but never saw. This is him back in August still in velvet with about a month's worth of antler growth left to go.

2023 Ended on a High Note!

I do a lot of deer hunting here in Texas. We have a small…less than 100 acre…family place in south Texas that I’ve pretty much hunted every year since I was 5. If you read “…deer hunting in Texas…” and you’re thinking high fences, protein pellets, breeder bucks, etc., this ain’t that. I killed...

Sightmark Wraith 4K Mini 2-16x (Digital Night Vision, not the Thermal)

All good points. And I'll add that podcast to the list of reviews/videos/etc. to check out...thanks for the recommendation. Maybe I just save my pennies and get something in that $2000-$3000 range. I've looked through probably a half dozen different thermal units that fall into that $2k-$4k...
