    Beaver Hunting?

I don’t chase beaver anymore. That’s all I used to do in my younger days and had some pretty wild encounters! In fact if you’re not careful you might end up having a run in with a cougar. Anyway it just leads to too much trouble and it’s best left to the younger guys.

'Yotes: What to do with carcusses when pelts have little value?

I eat them. Usually make sesame chicken or sweet and sour pork.

    What is this growth?

Implants. Looks like they’re starting their transition. Can’t shoot them because they don’t Identify as a buck. And to everyone referring to them as “he” or “buck” please mind your pronouns before I report you to the administrators.

Thriving elk, struggling deer: Coincidence? New research suggests not

Yep. And I’d give it up if it meant fewer people would be running around out there.

At this point I’d be fine if elk disappeared, just to get the shed hunters out of the woods.

44 mag vs 10mm for grizzly

I know it’s not on your list but I would highly recommend you consider carrying a bolt action rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. When you get down to it, ballistic coefficient is what really matters most for killing grizzly bears. Plus with that round you know your first shot will be a perfect...

    NM Female/Immature Barbary sheep

I wouldn’t be too selective, those things are tough to sneak up on and filling 2 tags will be challenging enough without trying to avoid ewes. There’s no shortage of those things and they breed year round. You’re not gonna wipe them out. Should be a lot of fun!

Hello, despite my username I am not from Texas and don’t care for trophy hunting. I’m from Arizona but have been residing in New Mexico for several years. I was waiting for draw results Wednesday morning and did a quick google search after a while when they weren’t posted, which led me here. I...
