Does it piss me off that a sheep hunt is north of 100k? You bet. Shady Journalism? For sure. If I had the money, would my son and I be sheep hunting? Absolutely.
As a father, I like the gist of the story.
This sums up my experience as well.
I just sent 2 home from training. They went home obedient. They are hard not love as they want human interaction, love to be petted etc. Little marking ability, great noses but couldn't figure out how to use them effectively. Not much in the way of prey...
I guess mine would be my custom 6.5x284. 700 Action, 26" sendero contour. B&C stock. Its a heavy pig but I tote it around no matter what I'm hunting simply because whatever I point it at, tips over.
I like you was concerned about its over expansion/explosiveness on the first couple whitetail I shot with the 143eldx even though the animals died quickly.
I kept using it and my concerns have vanished now as I've got probably 20+ deer and elk under its belt using that bullet. All but two of...
I have 2 corn stoves in my place. Basically free heat when I harvest food plots. But my insurance company was adamant that they not be a primary heat source.
Just something to think about.
I agree though, it would be a huge turnoff for most.
Mine all say dewalt on them. Mostly cause that was the only brand available in my small town a few years back when I bought a bunch. I have Milwaukee locally now and would not be afraid of them either.
Place of work has an old bosch that has been there longer than I. I've been around 13...
My grandfather used a WWII surplus Argentine Mauser in 7.65 Argentine in completely factory form from the time he got out of the Corps until he quit hunting in his 90's. He said he gave 20 bucks for it and it came with 250 rds of ammo. I saw that man make some incredible shots with that rifle...
I bought a couple sets of Talley's a few years back after reading their rave reviews everywhere. One set was unusable and the other needed lapping to the point I was not sure they were going to be usable.
That was the end of Talley for me.
I agree. I've no interest in shooting a rifle without one anymore. And I'll be the first to admit I spent years in the "WTF would I want one of those" camp.
