    First time eating pronghorn!

This is the only reason i can figure out that people say antelope is terrible. I'll take antelope over any other meat out there.

Off reservation trust land, South Dakota

I'd be hard pressed to believe you can hunt that. I honestly don't know if you can or can't but I'd be doing my homework before heading out there.

    Favorite Wildlife Watching moment.

First one that comes to mind was just this morning. As my son and I walked out of the house to head to town I noticed a yearling doe standing on my archery range about 50yds from us. About the same time my 4yr old "Froze" as he noticed her too. She began to play/investigate our chickens who...

Looking for rangefinder for mountain rifle hunting

I used a sig this weekend extensively. Sig makes a good unit but the readout is so bright that in low light you cannot see the image again for a 2nd confirmation readout. I owned a Vortex 4000. Was about useless as the reticle is so huge you have no idea if you're on your target or not. My...

shortest shot on a big game animal?

One of my top 3 archery bucks was taken on a super cold morning 12-15yrs ago. It was brutally cold out, actual temps better than -30f but it still seemed like a better option than attending that mornings college courses. Due to the cold I chose to forgo the treestand and nestle into a line of...

    Weird thing - Reloading

Mic the new vs old brass and you'll have your answer as to if that is the problem. Either way though, You'll want to add neck tension.

Elk hunt with a 4 year old

That's awesome! I've been experiencing the joys of taking my boy hunting the last 2 seasons. It's a test of patience at times for sure but he's already my little hunting buddy!

    Hunting Dog For A Veteran

Patriot Retrievers is giving a fully finished Labrador to a veteran. They are taking applications and will pick towards the fall of 2021. Sean is a good friend of mine that I met through the Army. He's not only a great dog trainer but an amazing person as well. You can find him on both...

    Boots for Elk Season

I've used the speed freaks. Not waterproof and were shot by the end of a hard 10 day hunt, could feel every rock you stepped on but were super comfortable out of the box. Zamberlan's have treated me well since.

    6.5x284, hhmmm?

4-5 years ago i built my first 6.5x284. I don't recall taking another caliber hunting since. Hands down my favorite caliber. I'd be pretty hard pressed to recommend one if you're not reloading though as factory ammo is certainly on the expensive side.

    Spotting scopes

Get the Swaro, ATX/STX with the 95 and 65 Obj. Best glass out there and covers all the basis.
