Great! Those Brent's are nice. Is your "hybrid kiln" going to use gas to start the wood, or is the gas to get the kiln to a certain cone where you take over with wood? Yeah, ash glazes and reduction firing is my favorite way to go, but I've never done salt glazes and those have always intrigued...
@jmcd another pant that has a great reputation for durability is the OR Ferrosi. I just ordered a pair to give them a whirl (on sale at Moosjaw). They too offer a 36x36.

If he gets it poured well before the first frost, and it has 28 days to cure, protect it from what? Snow? I could see blanketing it if it gets poured late for sure, but otherwise it's a waste of time, money, and will be a huge mess in the Spring.
I've worn Prana Stretch Zion's on very hunt I've been on going back to at least 2010. And today's fabric is slightly tougher than the 2009 iteration.
As I mentioned above, REI has them 25% off starting tomorrow.
Thanks for the clarification (still learning the personalities here) - and yeah, I get the visual. However, if I do elk hunt this year, I will be wearing Prana's (for the 12th year) and most likely using a Creedmoor. :D
Aside, Prana Stretch Zions are 25% off at REI starting Friday...
Prana Stretch Zion Pants. My favorite hunting pants for a number of years now. Having a built in belt is nice too as it precludes needing an actual belt which is a no-go with a backpack on. They make odd waist sizes as well as 28 - 36" inseams. They're super tough. Get the "standard fit."...
I got the album Northern Lights - Southern Cross in 1975. Despite a lot of attention to other "Band" songs, I always felt Acadian Driftwood (about the Acadian diaspora) was among their best. RIP Robbie Robertson.
