    Quitters

Damn Kurt - glad you found the spotter. The truck is insured, the spotter probably isn't. Regardless, a spotter is a lot more valuable. :)

Matt Rinella knocking it outta the park

That's it? Far-fetched? Radical? (more on radical below) Like I said in a previous post, I don't watch hunting shows, so that's easy for me. And I'm not sure what "hunting equipment" you speak of, but I don't buy "hunting clothes" since I prefer stuff made for the climbing/backpacking world. I...

Gotta brag on my old man (84 years young)

Love that photo - congrat's to you and your dad!

Matt Rinella knocking it outta the park

Please identify and elaborate on the 50% that is "far-fetched and radical."

Matt Rinella knocking it outta the park

Some rambling thoughts, none of which are even close to the "last word" on the subject (if I even understand what "the subject" is)... I don't watch hunting shows, or listen to hunting podcasts. I've never seen one of Randy's shows, and have no idea who Cam Hanes is. Is Cam Hanes a self-serving...

First season success for my 10 year old daughter.

Wow, how cool is that! Great job "dadding!"

    Do you get tired?

I'm 62, and have hunted and killed enough. I've got the physical energy and conditioning for it, I just don't have the desire for it. I hunted in 2021 and killed a nice old mountain bull. That was a super gratifying hunt, and it felt appropriate at age 60 to take a bull that wouldn't have made...

    Should I buy a .338?

Hard to know where to start... your basic understanding of firearm/stock design, and recoil is flawed. Makes me think you're fairly young. As you age, your ability to tolerate recoil will start to diminish. I promise you. "If you're bruising from shooting, odds are you're not holding the butt...

    Should I buy a .338?

Hard to know where to start with such a mountain of misinformation... "If a 338 is bruising your shoulder," it could be that the stock is a poor design, doesn't fit you, has a steel butt plate, or any number of a dozen issues with has nothing to do with holding a rifle (not a gun private)...

Chasing a Dream - Maine Moose Hunt

That's so great - a Down East Bull for A Deep South Guy! Glad to see you got the obligatory back-of-the-pickup and meat-pole shots - wouldn't have been a true Maine experience without both of those! I miss Maine...

A music poll to accompany Friday Tunes

Tough call. Born in 1961, and certainly more than half the music I listen to was written before that date... Hot Jazz, Cool Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Swing, Medieval, Chamber, Baroque, Romantic, Symphonic etc. As far as pop/rock music goes, I don't think it gets better than the mid/late 1960's through...

    Should I buy a .338?

Oh you know I'm just being a bit contrarian. :) But still - I still truly dislike brakes and I'm shocked a man of the cloth would flirt with the devil's handiwork. 😁 Yes they work in one way, but fail in several others, noise being the primary. But then I don't carry hearing protection in the...
