170" Whitetail on the killed ground @ 25yds

If you're not shopping for social media value, why post your stuff all over the web and have it under "Life by the Horns Production" etc? And no, while Randy is a nice guy, in general not a fan of his tv work.

Stuff you don't like for no good reason

As a start, I dislike "Euro Style" rifles, and Monte Carlo stocks. The Tikka T3 is probably one of the finest off-the-shelf rifles you can buy, and what I generally recommend to a new hunter, but I throw up a little in my mouth when I see one. More later...

The Governor, the Wolf and the Warden: A Fresh Look at a Gianforte Hunt

That's your take away? Aside, a leghold trap large enough to hold a wolf certainly will do damage. FWP uses padded leghold traps when trapping wolves to minimize the trauma and damage.

The Governor, the Wolf and the Warden: A Fresh Look at a Gianforte Hunt

Before the wolf in question was shot, it was caught in a foothold trap on a 213,000-acre ranch outside Yellowstone that is owned by the heirs to the Sinclair Oil fortune. It is unclear who set the foothold trap. Mr. Southard said Mr. Gianforte and a trapper-friend both set and monitored...

The Governor, the Wolf and the Warden: A Fresh Look at a Gianforte Hunt

Law enforcement officers say they were pressured to lie when Gov. Greg Gianforte of Montana killed a black wolf in 2021. He says the story is an election-year smear. Justin Hawkaluk, left, a former game warden with the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks, and Dave Loewen, the...

    Because Dad did!

Funny I opened this thread and read the OP. I've thought long and hard about it. There's literally not one thing I use because my dad did/does. His influence on me wasn't material obviously :) Regardless, I'll be 63 in a couple weeks, my dad is 95, and we have a great relationship. Hard to ask...

This is a six-digit, CRF, Stainless M70 safe-queen that's New Haven, Connecticut made. It's had a scope mounted but I don't think it's ever been fired. No real bolt wear or signs of firing. A few minor marks from sitting in a safe, but not from being carried in the field. This was made the first...

    Gettysburg

You're probably unaware of the post Civil War depression America suffered through after four bloody years that took more lives of Americans than WW2, all of which took place on our own soil. WW2 GI's came home to a booming economy. Not the same post Civil War. Again, I don't buy the idea of a...

    Gettysburg

It's impossible to have conversation without generalization. The label "greatest generation" has always bothered me, as I said earlier. It was a manipulative moniker designed to sell books. I can agree no generation deserves the title, but if one did, I still maintain it was the generation of...

    Gettysburg

The depression had nothing to do with WW2. WW2 cured it. We only "travelled around the globe dying for people we never met or heard of" because of Pearl Harbor. That's how we we "pushed" into a war we wanted noting to do with. Certainly the WW2 generation was a fine one, but the sacrifice of the...
