Popup blinds are fantastic for turkey hunting when mentoring beginner hunters. As I get older I really appreciate getting out of nasty weather more!- johnp

Please talk me out of using my 45-70 for Idaho Elk next fall
Take the 45/70 works good on elk. Killed my first elk with a marlin 45/70 back in 1979 in what is now the nature conservancy Blackfoot initiative area by Ovando. 60 yd shot in the black timber. -

Cool story, I have hunted in that area as well . Never heard that story . I was a timber faller south of Ovando in 1979. Always kept an eye open for Griz. Never saw any but north of the hwy there was and still is plenty of them!- johnp

What went wrong
Cool pictures, like the elk tracks leading to the hero pic. Along the same line , sometimes when I reply to a thread and go to post the reply ,the reply disappears and the screen says I am not logged in. Must be some I'm doing something wrong. -

Fence Post Rubs
When pheasant hunting in South Dakota I have seen posts planted in front of ground blinds to be used as " buck lure". -
