    Deer, elk, moose. I just had leftover deer shank from last night. It was better than fresh. I’ll try the Dutch oven in a few weeks as I have plenty of neck and shank cuts.

    Agreed! I use all her cast iron skillets from the early 1900s every day cooking at home. Only used the Dutch oven a couple times for cobbler... I need to braise some shanks now

    Yea I'm going to try this next. Ive always done around 8 hours. Yesterday I tried 24 for the hell of it and it turned out exactly the same as my 8 hour times. So i think ill try 4-6 hours next.

    What am I missing? Crock pot/slow cooker set to low. I leave in anywhere from 12-24 hours Ingredients: Venison depends on the day neck roast or shank. Brown meat on all sides on the cast iron prior to putting in the pot. Add meat, home made bone broth, red wine, water (cover all the way)...

    So if you cant be charged criminally then how is the land owner going to get your information in the field if you have hiked in from a far distance? With no law enforcement what can one actually do? Argue and ask for ID from a man holding a gun? Not trying to start a pissing match, real questions...

    Feral Cats

    I’d kill every single outdoor cat I could if it were legal, and I like cats...sort of. When you are an invasive species and you eat all the quail and song birds and shit in my garden (parasites and disease) I can’t be on your side. There are so many feral cats in this country!

    Yea that’s crazy, I got to imagine there’s guys printing multiple tags. It would be very easy to get away with it, unfortunately. Never seen game warden when I’ve hunted there either..

    Side note: what’s stopping someone from printing multiple tags, filling one tag bringing home the carcass, then a week later going out in the field hunting again? Just the honor system? Here in CA that would be impossible to do because the tags aren’t replicable.
