Interesting discussions from the working group a few days ago. I like the direction its heading.
Note these are not final, just the 2 most popular proposals for elk, deer, pronghorn, and bear and the split % is TBD:
Split draw...
Agreed, I'm on board with paying a higher resident license fee, even significantly higher, if needed and if we get something in return for it. With the current CPW budget surplus, it doesn't seem needed.
Some good news that CPW can manage wolves as needed, including lethal.

Thanks Oak for your efforts and congrats on being chosen for the working group.
Here are my thoughts on some of the ideas already mentioned, plus a few others:
Resident/Non-resident: if 90/10 won't be considered, then do away with unlimited OTC for non-residents, replace it with either OTC...
Yes, great turnout, didn't meet either of you, too many people to ask if they're from Hunt Talk. We'll have to exchange real names, pics, or vehicle info next time so we can meet up. I was in tan pants with suspenders and a green shirt.
I remember the black lab, was having a tough time on...
Very helpful, I don't have any of those tools, but will use this as an excuse to buy more tools. Like the idea of a tool that can be used for multiple things (both driving and removing t-posts) vs the t-post puller.
@elkduds I'm in, thanks for the offer of a beverage, but I'll pass since I'm doing a day trip.
My first fence project, do you know what should I bring (tools, gloves, etc.) vs what is provided?
WY non-resident draw results are out

General tag had some point creep, 2022 was 12% draw odds for those with between 3-4 points, 2023 was 9% for those with 4 points.
A buddy and I drew general tags with 5 points.
Some good commentators on the res/non-res allocation, thanks for your comments.
The 75/25 split and 80/20 for high demand units just passed, but wasn't unanimous (seemed like mostly outfitters on the commission were against it, not surprising).
My focus will be a WY general elk tag for both archery and rifle (hope to draw with 5pts), so first choice will be points for CO along with hunting some long weekends in CO with 2nd choice, reissue, or OTC tags.
Why do some Colorado GMUs have A list cow tags?
In Colorado, generally, A list tags are Bull or Either Sex tags and B list are Cow tags (GMU 6 example below, OTC unit), but some GMU's have A list Cow tags (GMU 7 example below, non-OTC unit). A hunter is limited to one A list tag per species...
Saw these in the video below, good to see some numbers that back up the impression of more hunters in CO. Surprising 2021 wasn’t listed, would be interesting to see how the numbers changed since 2020 was low due to Covid.
Video mentions some bad data in 2005-2006.
Agreed, making leftovers an unlimited quantity C license, would be too much, so I didn't mention that. But if all leftovers were B licenses, someone would still be limited to 2 licenses per species, plus C licenses. Another option would be to allow everyone 1 leftover in addition to the...
I thought that comment was very interesting, as they went through the primary and secondary draw already and still have leftovers. Would make sense that reissued licenses would still be A or B, but maybe make all leftovers B or something else.
These pics were taken this past weekend, about 12K feet in Colorado (OTC unit). About 50 elk in this area this past weekend, about 20 the weekend before, mostly cows & calfs.
They stay in this area until archery season starts, then disappear. Didn't figure out where they went last year, maybe...
My 1st choice elk point is showing, but not 1st choice deer point. Then 2nd choice deer tag shows Awarded while 2nd choice elk tag doesn't show anything yet (but I did get a cc charge for elk).
