    Meat Hunt, Scouting trip

My wife and I each drew 2 doe/fawn tags in a unit in WY that I am interested in for bucks in the future. We love antelope meat, so it seemed like a good way to go and check out the country. We left Thursday night after work and stopped in Jackson for a little pre-hunt ice cream loading. After a...

Ethics Question of the Day: Trail Cams whle hunting

I think more people are using trail cams now for both preseason scouting and as an actual tool while hunting. I don't have a problem with it, as long as allowed by law in the state. I believe that would be illegal in MT for sure. Recent potential trail cam regulation just got shot down in...

    Meat bags!

I had a hard time finding the caribou bags a week or so back, ended up getting the Allen backcountry bags ( in orange bag ) - found them for $19 on Amazon. Hope they hold up, seem to be of fairly good quality.

Phelps or Rocky Mountain elk calls?

Bought some of the new Amp frame diaphragm calls from Phelps - a couple didn't work for me, but the orange and bright green are as good as any call I have used in the past, possibly better. So far I have had mixed feedback from the wife and kids, as I practice in my office , Hoping to get...

Unlike your wife, I want you opinion - Sidearm 10mm vs 357 mag

I have carried a 454 Casull, 480 Ruger, 44 mag, 41 mag over the years in the field while archery hunting, fishing, berry picking, firewood getting....etc, around the SW corner of Yellowstone. Never had to use one, but their weight was always an issue for me. Liked the idea of the 10 mm, and...

Been a super busy few weeks, hoping the eclipse crowd and recent fire hasn't pushed them to a new spot. Will sacrifice and get out and see if I can round them up soon
