    So when you say “first week of September” you mean the first week of the elk hunting season not the first actual week of September? The early rifle season doesn’t start until September 15. Just want to make sure the outfitter has communicated clearly with you.

    For 100 yard whitetails, a 7mm can't do anything a .243 won't do. But if you want a 7mm and have recoil issues, I'd maybe look to a little heavier gun than a Tikka.

    I don’t think wolves kill nearly as many cattle as they do elk. If they spent that much time in cattle country, ranchers would surely be buying more .22-250 ammo than they are now.
