Black Bear in Alaska
Has anyone hunted black bear in SE Alaksa? Some friends and I are looking into a hunt next spring in the Tongass or Chugach National Forests. Anyone have some general ideas on good places to go, and maybe where not to go? Thanks for any info! ------------------- ELKCHASER

Hunting Bear in IDAHO!!!!!!!
I can't wait to get out there! A friend at work had a bear up at his cabin Northeast of Blackfoot last weekend. Looks like they are already up and around in eastern Idaho. 243 w/ 55grn or 58grn bullets - 4000fps?
Better off going with something more along the lines of a 70 - 85 grain? Primary purpose would be yotes and rock chucks. Shoot straight! ------------------- ELKCHASER

Which is bigger Kodiak (Grizzly) or Polar bear
The way I understand it.....Polar Bears are far and away the biggest bear. As far as Griz, there is no genetic difference. Most Challenging To Hunt
BIG MULIES get my vote. I know they are out there and some of you guys bring home the proof, but high country mulies are one smart elusive animal. Who has killed what with a .243
Thanks for sharing all of your experience. Since I still have not shot this rifle and it is new in the box, now I am thinking about trading it off.
