Have a AB3 in 300 Win mag. Love everything about the rifle, except the mag release.
It’s in front of the mag and presses back. I’m afraid of dropping the mag and not knowing it. That’s why I bought a second mag, just in case.
There’s also a aftermarket trigger spring that helps a bunch.
Nope, changed my mind this morning. The 300 saum just needed a little tweak and now it’s a cloverleaf at 100 with 168 TSX. Comes in a over a pound less than the Weatherby, even wearing a 4.5-14 Leupold.
Well, crud! After MillerKillers comment, I’m leaning towards the 300 Weatherby, it’s a Weathermark, the only true all weather rifle I own.
The 673 used to be a guide gun until I worked it over to drop some weight. She’s got a DuraCoat finish and with some advice from P_ham, all the kinks are...
Might be a stupid question, but here goes.
I’ve drawn a 1st rifle tag in Colorado this fall. Been a while since I’ve rifle hunted for elk.
Narrowed the choices down to 2, a 673 in 300 saum or a Model 70 in 325 wsm.
The 300 is shooting a 168 TSX at 2825, getting a 1 1/2” group. It handles the...
Still amazing to me that guys put in for units that they’ve never set foot in and then get on a forum asking for help.
Do some homework, show you know what you’re talking about. Maybe ask some general questions before asking about a specific unit.
Well, did you draw a tag?
Not sure what being 62 has to do with it! I’ll be 62 next week and headed to Colorado in October solo. Planning on Wyoming next year.
Get in the best shape you can, thumbs up from the doctor and pick up a inReach for peace of mind.
Go hunt and enjoy yourself.
Looks like I’m headed to southern Colorado this fall for first rifle elk.
Good luck to all that are heading out there too. May y’all kill a nice bull the day after I do!
Now I’ve got to figure out what rifle to take.
Don’t recall seeing this anywhere.
Bill Wylde, developer of the Wylde chamber, passed away on 1 April, 2023.
Had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with him a couple times. He lived about 10 miles away.
Didn’t know all that taping was necessary. Feel when a ladder kicked and caught the top rung of scaffolding a couple years back. Knew I broke one until I got to the ER. Nope, broke 5 up the left side.
Never taped or wrapped at any time. Was off work for 6 days.
