Got home to Illinois on Sunday at 1800 from a cruise to Canada.
Finally left home at 0930 on Monday.
Arrived at our cabin in Colorado this afternoon! Finally!
My buddy has been here a couple days now and doing a little scouting. Last night he found 7 elk with one small shooter bull. This morning...
Tall F1 Main frame, Tranformer bag with internal frame, 4000 ci drybag, rifle scabbard, saddle bag and extra shoulder harness. Looking to sell as a package, $525.
The Transformer bag has been hunted, but no blood. Everything else is basically new.
Will split shipping costs.
Longest, 49 yards WT buck and he took a full step forward while the arrow was in flight.
Shortest, 2’ small doe at the base of the tree.
Average is somewhere around 23 yards for everything else.
I didn’t intend to kick a hornets nest, already did that.
Really just wanted to let everyone know that the rifle is a shooter now. I didn’t give up on it.
No longer upset at Weatherby, very happy with the rifle. I buy another on in the right caliber in a heartbeat.
I got it, mounted a scope, changed my mind and put another one on. Found Hornaday brass and started working on a load. That brass was a mistake. Gave up on that load and rifle and put it in the safe. Got a couple other rifles and just never went back to the 300 Weatherby.
Drew a Wyoming elk tag...
Know I’m dragging up a 2 year old thread, but had to say this.
After getting the WeatherMark back and all the complaining I did, I’ve worked up a 180 TSX load for it and it’ll shoot .75 all day long.
It’s the rifle I’m taking to Colorado this fall. Looking to put a notch on the stock, so to speak.
Guess me asking a general question was a mistake.
More detail. I’m elk hunting 1st rifle out of a cabin in town with the wife and a couple buddies.
The wife and I are going to Las Vegas after the hunt for 5 days after the hunt. If the processor can’t or won’t hold on to the meat, I need a way to...
Not that many. Hunted this unit several times before during archery, saw some sign but never a fur ball.
Truck will be sitting in town at a cabin with the ladies. I’ll be up in my tent until I drop on.
I may be the guy rolling down the road looking like a portable armory.
There’s a 7mm, couple 300’s, a 388, a 270 and a ‘06 that I haven’t drug out yet.
A 5 day hunt and I could carry a different rifle each day.
Wish you guys would just tell me which one to take!!
