Off-season project - 7mm Rem Mag

Army surplus Remington 700
What the wife's Grandad probably bought was a surplus 1917 Enfield made by Remington. I owned one made by Eddystone and it was a very accurate rifle...heavy, but accurate. -

My New (to me) Remington 750 .30-06
I also had a Model Four (Fancy 7400) in .270 that was just as reliable/accurate. Sold it to my Aunt (yes, for cheap!) down in Texas. I doubt she ever hunted with it, she just liked the idea of a nice rifle around camp, lol. -

I had a onee in 35 Whelen Carbine a few years back. I shot several handloads in it, it was super accurate also. It was "world's better" than the 740s and 742s I grew up around. Well, I meant the ones in 30-06, all the short action 308s and 6mms were fine. -

Some brands of factory ammo or brass had headspace issues. Took two strikes to go off, etc. My chamber was cut right, I just had to fire form my cases first, then work up a good load. Buy it pard! You can have it braked, put a Limbsaver pad on it OR like I did once, put a FalconStrike Hydraulic Recoil Pad on it! Its a nice looking pad that has oil in special chambers/baffles inside, it really works! I have used/owned, shot a ton of deer/elk size critters with several 338WMs... -
