Made the decision to have my 338/06 AI reamed out to the Weatherby 338 RPM with a 4D Weatherby Freebore Reamer. I just wasn't satisfied with my overall results with either the A-Square std or the Ackley (much as I love them!) More power! and I still have my sweet handling little rifle. Oh yeah! -

Annealing question
I have never shot enough rounds to worry about annealing. If I get 4-5 loads before a primer pocket opens up, I'm happy. any cracked necks, etc, get the heave ho. Off-season project - 7mm Rem Mag
Many rounds seem to perform better with some compression. But I too have had rifles that just did not shoot well at peak pressure. I have also just traded or sold one that aggravated me one too many times, ha. Hope all the best for you young man!
