Couple things....
- On the money front, there is a difference between putting in a shirt order and picking them up when done, and having the shirt supplier handle production, inventory, point of sale, and shipping. He is most certainly not making money at $22.00 for a T-shirt.
-On hunter...
Ideally you don't get meat wet, but if the alternative is meat spoiling from warm temps, it can be done. Lots of guys in the South age meat in ice water slush.
I hate the way it makes meat look, though!
You and Matt would make a great podcast. He seems pretty open to examining the holes in his theories, and there are a few. Nobody has all the answers.
I think the ship has sailed with Cam.
-Do we really know what hits the general public wrong? Is the "no tongue hanging out and no pool of blood" established as an issue, or is it just what we've been told? Hunting is a messy process, and at what point are you not being honest about what really happens? Which is one of Matt's points...
This is worth quoting.
In my rollover neither of us were wearing seatbelts. I almost always do, but it was 4 am, we were tired, yadda yadda..... I still am not sure how we didn't get hurt. It scares me to think about it to this day. It was a really unwise choice.
Put your seat belts on!!!!!
In the case of Bowmar, enough people watched that a whole method of take got banned. I don't know where they watched it, but they certainly did somewhere.
I wish there was more trapping. We are overrun with coons, coyotes, etc where I live because fur prices have been low for so long. However...
I think he'd be running the real risk of a situation like Josh Bowmar and the speared bear, where his own wish for publicity gets an activity shut down for everyone else.
Do you really think showing animals in traps on film is going to go over well with the general public?
I shot my first with open sights, a little over 20 years ago.
I'd not recommend it. I think the chance for poor outcomes is higher unless you keep ranges very short.
No, I would not. Unless there is no sponsorship, no camera guys following me around, etc., which doesn't really exist.
I like what I do for a living. Then I take some time off each fall and spring to hunt, and I'm free to make all my own decisions, inside of the law and ethics. Why would I...
He has posted on Rokslide a bit, in some threads I've been involved in.
I agree with a lot of what he has to say, not everything. It's a mistake to say he's riding his brother's coattails, in my opinion. He is no dummy, and his positions are well thought out. He's also willing to evolve his...
I'm personally not advocating for restrictions, this is more of a philosophical discussion to me. At the heart for me is a belief that starting children killing things at a younger and younger age is not necessarily an established way to make lifelong outdoorsmen and women.
I believe that...
How many kids tags do you think wind up getting filled by dad every year?
I'm guessing it's more than a few. If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.....
