The Maven B series have "Japanese components assembled in the US" so I guess you could say they're made in the US? Regardless they make a good product.
You should be more concerned about hunting an area you're familiar with, IMO.
Not very. Colorado doesn't take a very large sample size and people aren't always truthful.
Colorado unit 40 gets brought up a lot on here and other forums. I wouldn't burn your points there unless you can afford a guide or live nearby. Access is frustrating to put it mildly and the unit can take years to learn how to hunt the public. There's certainly big bulls, though. Apply with...
I’m going when the weather is cooler in the hopes elk are more active. There are different schools of thought in this; choose what will benefit your style of hunting the best.
I'm with TOGIE, not showing results for either myself or my wife. Assuming we were unsuccessful but still would expect to see something indicating that.
Similar story here. Lots more applicants this year. Dang near every leftover buck tag last year that was decent drew out by first or second choice this year. Heck even the doe tags in poor access units often weren't guaranteed at first choice. Things are changing fast for sure.
Dang, didn't draw my second choice buck tag even though it's historically gone leftover. Wife didn't draw her special buck tag, but did draw a doe tag.
I've had 12x50 and 10x42 binoculars off and on. If you hunt mostly broken country or in the timber you'll prefer the 10s for the FOV. You will struggle to see any more detail with the 12s while handholding but when using a tripod at a far enough range you'll probably prefer 12s. Just kind of...
I drive a long ways and hunt solo all the time, even for elk. Finding reliable partners with the same plan as yours is very difficult so I've learned to mostly rely on myself. If I were you I know where I would be in September and it certainly wouldn't be at home.
Yes to the first question, maybe to the second question. There will be truckloads of people regardless, and the elk will be around depending on the weather. Pray for snow.
Being from Junction I hunted 41 and 62 mostly growing up. Lots of locals and Kannah gets hammered hard throughout the season, from top to bottom. My only advice would be to get creative with your plan because the obvious spots will likely be staked out already. There's success to be had...
I've hunted 18 4th rifle one time. Having grown up hunting unit 62, a very popular unit itself, unit 18 is nothing short of a zoo. I've never seen so many hunters out west in my life. I shot a nice bull, though, but most don't. The area you're describing wouldn't be my first choice due to...
My pronghorn application went from "Entered" to "Not Awarded" this morning, so we should see that rolling out for other species soon. It'll be nice for those of us that applied for multiple choices to see what we drew.
