This is the truest thing I've heard on a forum in a while, and is one of my biggest frustrations with goHUNT. goHUNT lists 76 as having a general size of 310"-340" with a trophy potential of 350"+. It couldn't be much further from the truth. Specifically 66, 67, and 76 are units that in...
Fair point, I should have been more careful and stated that's what some people drew with last year. The overall point being that I think anyone would be crazy to burn 17 points on a unit you could draw during rifle season with under 5 points, and in some cases 1.
I'd also be looking at 76; pretty good bull quality, not a lot of pressure, and typically a very good rut. 49 has some big bulls but they're not as easy to hunt as 76. Frankly I don't think 66 belongs in the conversation with more than 5 points, let alone 17. As a non-resident you could draw...
I've been playing this game for a few years now and this is always the slowest week. Not much gets put on the list, but as others have said there's been a small number of decent tags pop up so far. Mostly muzzy and archery deer tags that were good, a couple archery elk tags that weren't bad...
Becoming a better hunter won't help any of us draw a tag if more people start applying for our unit, was my point. Your logic works just fine for OTC tags but not for draw units. Posting draw units to hunt definitely don't help those of us that apply in currently low draw units. No major...
I had over a 60% chance for my buck tag based on last year, but swung and missed. Rough year for me in the draws. Thank goodness for the Colorado leftover list.
I logged in before 7, kept it refreshed for a couple hours, clicked proceed right at 9 and got the deer tag I was after. Circled back for an elk tag, tried to pay, and they were already gone.
I agree that it would be very interesting to see the correlation between distance from hunting spot and success rate. I haven’t personally found much correlation between the two. What I’ve found to be the most common traits among those that kill consistently is obsession and persistence.
I...
