I have yet to see anyone on any site claim a CC hit for a tag, but there have certainly been credit card hits for moose points. The June 6th thing applies to tags, not points. Anyone that wanted a moose point already acknowledged that they'd be charged for it.
It's easy enough to figure out the unit based on the information you gave. That unit/group is a weird one. I've never hunted there myself but it can be very hit or miss based on the guys I've talked to that hunt it, and the harvest statistics show a lot of volatility. Colorado doesn't require...
That particular unit gives out few tags overall and is subsequently a bit volatile in terms of number of points required. I personally wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket on any year because it doesn't take a lot of new applicants to shift the draw odds. Worth applying if you have back-up...
Having lived in Arizona, the reality is that elk tags are so hard to draw that most guys have a group, and everyone in that group takes time off for whoever draws on a given year. It's the only way most of them get to go elk hunting. Most of the people I met would rather take a week off to...
I'll just reiterate what @Bluffgruff said. I know an outfitter in the area that was telling me about the number of clients he has that wait 20 years, burn their points, then end up sitting at camp the whole time or going home early. These elk hang out at 12,500 plus in the early season and...
It was not that bad considering on late season hunts I'm always wearing Sitka Timberline pants with built in kneepads. Even coming off of knee surgery last year I didn't have any problems with that setup.
The terrain truly is incredible up there. Getting up to that bull from the truck was...
Northern Arizona late season bull. Had the tag four seasons ago and went home empty handed. Learned from my mistakes and was able to get it done this year on opening morning on a really cool bull.
Overall I’m happy it’ll give some people an opportunity they otherwise didn’t have, but wish they still required a field day in some capacity. When I took it the field day was fun and educational even for an experienced hunter. Never hurts to reinforce what you already know as well.
I have a picture I guess, technically not a screenshot. It's dated October 12, 2018 at 12:52. I don't have a screenshot from the next window but there were still like 12 or 13 left five minutes later.
I have a screenshot from that day, assuming we're talking the same unit. There were 31 unit 61 first rifle bull tags that hit the list at once. Pretty insane.
You've got that backwards. You confirmed the code, then when you tried to add it to the cart it was unavailable. That absolutely can happen. Someone added to cart faster than you did.
