I've spent plenty of years hunting better seasons or units that I've hunted before, but sometimes you just need a little luck. Best buck I've shot in 18 years :oops:
I was fortunate to get 2072. Last year also got in the 2000s, so statistically that's pretty lucky. Not that it matters, though. All the good or decent elk tags will be sold out long before I ever make it through the queuing line.
Like all of us I've seen dozens of posts where someone says "you posting this isn't helping your odds" but I can't think of a better example than this. Do you realize just how many more people this year would have to apply as a first choice in the regular for it to not draw out at second choice...
Montana general archery. First year with a Montana tag in my pocket, and have to say it went a lot better than I hoped it would. I didn't get a great look at this bull before I shot him, but he's a much better bull than I was looking for. Thanks for everything, Montana.
