There was turkey hunting there 6-7 years ago when I went there. Not sure if it's changed since. I stayed at a campground on the SW end of the lake, there was public ground right across the driveway. We filled 4 tags in 2 days, then went fishing.
Tag #5, the last and final one for the season was filled over the weekend in Wisconsin. It was a warm day, pushing 90 degrees but still fun to be out chasing theses birds.
Can't wait till next spring. No to see what tags I draw for this fall.

I currently have several single shots, they all serve their purpose at given times. I agree having only one shot improves your shot selection. All are pretty light and easy to carry except for the slug gun, that thing is a pig to tote around!

I went up in 2010 I believe with 3 other guys, Area 31 on the fringe of the BWCA. Hunted near a burn area, just happened to be a bumper year for berries and the bears were abundantly found in and around the berries everyday. We weren't after monster bears by any means, more for the experience...
