Area 36 has a general and a type 9 season. The type 9 is only valid in 36, but the general is valid for all general seasons/areas.
Make note that 32 type 9 is cow only.
Spot on about local news. We usually turn on the news at night while saying “let’s see what the kids have to say today.” Recently the Casper news has been outsourced to some media group based in Milwaukee. So we get our news and weather read to us by mediocre anchors ~4 states away.

Where in WY are you moving to? FWIW, I've lived here over 8 years and have never hunted wilderness yet. Freezer is full of pronghorn and elk every year. My advice is don't get hung up on the wilderness thing.

In would find a place with trees and water. Then I would go there and listen for gobbling in the morning and evening. I would also use my eyes for seeing and some calls to elicit more gobbles until the turkey and I were within about 30 yards of each other. Then my shotgun would render the turkey...
