I would start over if it was my set up. I’m a Talley LW fan and have them on at least ten rifles but if I had even a 1% concern about my scope and mount set up reliability I would go a different direction.
I have Warnes on my 270 and 300 Weatherby magnums but everything else except my old 30-06...
I have a wyoming saw. You have to put it together but is like a hacksaw after you do.
I saw another called a dandy saw. I have never used one. I would try the search feature if you don't get many responses. I am certain this has been asked many times and you might find a lot of suggestions in...
I used to add pork fat , egg and bread crumbs to patties but I switched to no additive's in my burgers either for a grill or not. I never had any issues with my burgers falling apart unless I had gotten water in the mix from quick thawing in a vase of water. Once in a while my bag of ground...
After using various bore sighters (SL-100 and SL 300)I went back to looking down the barrel at a target 25 yards out. Its on the paper at 100 yards every time. If your using one I would probably take the break off If possible.
It isnt about really doing anything to curb gun violence. Their only goal is to appear to be doing something about it. They always go for the low hanging fruit. Someone willing to face a court and penalty for committing a capital offense with a firearm isn't too fazed by the chance of being...
At the end of every season I ask God to give me one more. So I suppose my goal is live through it. Then ask again for another. One goal is to always fill my freezer and have a dang good time doing it. If there's a nice rack in there somewhere more the better.
Not much you can do if someone doesn't like venison. Same as if they don't like fish or
beef or pork. They just eat something else that meal. Sausage is the one thing you can get by most people that don't like venison.
I use the same seasoning on my venison loins and steaks I cook in my cast...
30-06 would be my first pick for what the OP listed as game. Theres a lot you can do with all that available ammo for it.
The devil might be in the word last word “ ect “….. 270 would be my second choice.
For myself in the whitetail and hog world its the 7mm08.
I have learned over the years not to comment on anyones decisions after the fact.
They only got pizzed at me for not validating their poor decision. But spending
$700 on a $300 rifle doesn't seem to make sense. Enhancements and upgrades are one thing repairs twice the value are another.
I have...
I used mine for 20 years as my only rifle (before I got internet and learned I needed ten rifles) I shot remington 165 coreloks out of it. I never shot anything else.
At 100 yards it shoots the first two shots touching or very close and the 3rd shot about 3/4 inch out. It shoots that same group...
I hunt with whatever happens to blow my skirt up at the time I am getting prepared to go. After I get some meat in the freezer I might try and challenge myself and use my Encore Pistol in 7mm08. That should be a real fandango………
I have a old bushnell trophy 3-9x40 I bought for $100 back in roughly 1988. It was an upgrade from the basically unusable Tasco that was on the like new Ruger m77 tanger
in 3006 I purchased for $100 the year before.
I shot that set up in Florida, South Carolina and Alabama as my only rifle...
Every time I read a post like this I get closer to upgrading from my old 2004/5 model ELs. So much for that promise I had made to myself that my binos would be a once in a lifetime purchase.
But close to 20 years use isnt to much to be ashamed of. I would have never made that promise to myself...
