Do you use a scope with target turrets?

For the original question of this thread, I now have Leupold CDS scopes on many of my rifles. The scope on my .300 Weatherby has a 200 yard zero, all the others are zeroed at 100 yds. On the top of the range turret, I have painted a white dot at the zero point, then I painted white lines at...

Do you use a scope with target turrets?

Explaining MPBR is easy: It's the Maximum Range where the path of the bullet doesn't go more than say 3.5" above or below the line of sight to your target. So you just aim Point Blank at the center of the animal's vital zone and shoot. For over 40 years I had a Leupold M8 6X scope on my .257...

    Africa

Looks like you had a great time, and the Africa bug bit you as you have already booked your next trip. (y) I went on my first African hunt in 2000 as a result of a SCI auction, then went back 5 more times. After my first trip, I decided to try to hunt different animals on each trip so each...

    MT-WTF did I see?

The sheep in the OP's picture is a Mouflan ram. They are native to Europe, and are on game farms and some wild in Texas, and several of the Hawaiian islands have them. One is difinately on my bucket list. Don't tell FWP as they will say it is invasive and want to destroy it.

    Biggest…when?

I shot my best bull in 1977, DIY, on public land in northern Montana. He gross scored 375 with 59 1/2" and 60 1/2" main beams. He was the last elk that I shot with my .30-06. I've shot a lot of small 6s and 5x5s since then, but haven't even seen anything like him.

    Good for you Botswana

There are good and bad people in all societies all over the world. Unfortunately, this also includes hunters. I believe the term "Trophy Hunting" was started by anti-hunters to put a derogatory light on hunters. Unfortunately, this term is also used by some hunters who believe that their form...

    Offseason Tinkering

I bought Lee Collet Neck Size dies for 5 of the cartridges that I shoot the most, mainly to eliminate the steps of lubing cases then removing the lube, but also hoping to increase accuracy with a more consistant neck pressure on the bullets. Only range time will tell. Also I bought 2 Lee...

    FWP Bonus Point Sketchiness

If I remember correctly, in the early '80s FWP did away with the bonus points because they said their computers were overloaded with everyone's bonus points. I think I had 8 sheep bonus points then. Now, me and thousands of others all have 576 squared preference points in multiple species.
