Big tree thread
I keep meaning to add this photo. It’s a Ceiba tree I saw in Puerto Rico this spring. Age was estimated around 370 years and for scale, that big buttressed root on the right is 12-14 feet tall!- Dougfirtree

7600 Makeover
I made it 14.5" I'm 6'4" and my upland shotgun is 15.5" which is perfect for that kind of shooting. I keep my waterfowl shotgun a little shorter than that because I tend to be wearing bulkier clothing when duck hunting. I left it on for 4 or 5 hours at a time, but still found it took a lot of work to get the finish off. It did work, though, so I guess no real complaints. I looked into that. Was thinking that maybe turning it into a .338-06 was the solution, but my smith told me that the pitting in the barrel that is likely affecting accuracy, is in the chamber as well. So, it seems like a new barrel is the only solution.- Dougfirtree
