    Mountain Shiras moose habitat

On my Wyoming Shiras moose hunt I saw them in all kinds of terrain. From normal willow swamps to alpine areas. I even jumped a good group out of a quakie patch in the middle of big open sage country. They are big and black, so during warm months they typically find the coolest shady spot in...

    Shiras moose caliber

Even back in 1993, one 140g Barnes from my 7mag dispatched this old Wyoming bull. He was 360 yds away and only took one step before he fell.

    Montana 3/4 curl ram judging

I've always felt like the age of a ram is as important in trophy quality as length and mass. The 3/4 curl rule is an attempt to get rams to some level of maturity before they are harvested, but for me, I'd need to see some decent mass on a ram before I attempted to draw any lines to determine...

    1 horn sheep?

On my first Stone sheep hunt I encountered a ram with only one horn. He was a beautiful dark Stone but we could only get 7 age rings on his good side. If he would have been legal I would have shot him and been very happy. As it was, I came home empty handed, having hunted 14 hard days without...

Despite the odds, how many Sheep Tags have you Drawn or Won in your Life?

Well done Lawnboy! It's too bad we all can't have one crack at a Breaks ram. They are certainly special.

    Moose Hunting Tips

As has been mentioned, drawing the tag is the hardest part. Given your handle, I'm assuming you are trying for a Wyoming Shiras moose. I was lucky in the Wyoming draw back when they had lots of moose and I'd say the hunting wasn't that hard. Once you find where they are at it's pretty easy to...

    Poached Montana Shiras

You would think the fine would at least be the cost of buying a moose hunt at an auction. I don't know any trophy moose hunts that don't hit 20K and beyond. In some states, judges do have the option of taking trucks, guns, etc. that were used in the crime. Unfortunately, most sentences are...

Despite the odds, how many Sheep Tags have you Drawn or Won in your Life?

YOU can hunt sheep every year, but the rest of us don't live in Heaven.:sneaky: Impressive lineup of fine White sheep. Some dark horned old farts on that wall. Very impressive!

Despite the odds, how many Sheep Tags have you Drawn or Won in your Life?

Oh that's a bitter pill to swallow with two empty Stone's hunts! I blanked on my first Stone's and I thought I was done. Fortunately for me I reached deep financially one more time and found success. I can't imagine what I would have felt if I hadn't connected on that one. Way to give it your...

New Mexico - Youth Ewe BHS Hunt

Come on G Slayer! You have the expensive gear...why not your son????:ROFLMAO: Seriously, that experience is awesome. You now have a built in hunting partner for life and while it will be expensive for you to support his hunting desires (not just cloths), it will be totally worth it. I started...

CO bighorn sheep, mountain goat, and pronghorn raffles

It blows me away that the CO liberals will tolerate domestic mountain maggots over supporting and giving space to majestic wild sheep. Maybe it's because we also like to hunt them? My hat's off,(exposing my cold bald head) to RMBS and crew. A very worthy cause for sure! Tickets Purchased.

Well done. Every sheep adventure I've ever participated in, leaves me "dreaming of going again somehow"!

    Sheep show

To me the shows are a two edged sword. I hate seeing how commercialized hunting has become, but I also love rubbing shoulders with other like-minded idiots! I have been the low-ball bidder on a few tags, just for fun...knowing I could never chase the big money boys. It is kinda fun watching...

Advice need on rifle cal and ammo selection for sheep hunt

Congratulations on the sheep tag BradA. Having a sheep hunt to anticipate makes for an exciting time ahead. I have shot sheep with calibers from 6.5 Creedmoor to 300WSM. They all died quickly and easily. This past year my son used my 28 Nosler shooting 177g Hammer Hunters to kill his...

Successful draw WY Area 68 Antelope!

My son and I hunted 68 last year. I took my buck at 480 yds and he killed his at 670. We tried getting closer, but the does wouldn't have it and the bucks were following them.
