Down to the wire!!
Looks like I made it! Final weigh in this morning. We leave at 5 PM today. I had spiked as high as 209 3 months ago and was at about 207.5 when I started this. The goal was 9 lbs (rifle weight).
Overall, I've eaten much more reasonable and not starved myself and I've...
I've always believed that if you are going to bitch, you better be ready to offer some solutions too. This thread is dedicated to what is RIGHT with outdoor TV and what we all would like to see more of. I'll start:
1) Failure - That's right, I really enjoy seeing the suspense of a good hunt...
Add rock music sound tracks to the list. Everyone's trying to star in their own music video these days.
I also get sick to see the grotesque deer on the deer farm shows. I'd be ashamed to shoot one of those deer.
I was intending to make a light-hearted thread, but this really does bother me too. I think many of these hosts kill 6 or 8 deer a season, and so they are taking the lazy approach to just getting the antlers by leaving them overnight. Not saying its never a good idea and I understand that they...
I am writing to you on behalf of many of your viewers with some constructive criticism. Don't get me wrong, we don't know what we would do without Outdoor TV shows, but a few little tweaks might be in order:
1) The 2 second clip showing the hunter cocking the hammer of the muzzle loader or...
Another vote for 308. I have a 300 WSM, a 270, and a 308, and I just flat ENJOY shooting the 308.
Also another vote for bullet choice. Hornady GMX, Barnes TTSX, Nosler Accubond are my choices.
Howard Leight Muffs around my neck if I'm stationary. Slip them on when game spotted or when my spidey senses tingle. If it's an opportunistic shot and I don't have time...so be it.
I've narrowed it down to getting a 250 now or waiting on the new 150. I absolutely don't need the diesel. More of a just in case I decide to get a travel trailer which is not unrealistic for us. Also I know to only live once!
I keep trucks a long time. My thinking is that there are some things if really like to do in the next 10 years that a diesel would handle a lot better than a gasser. Having said that I love the soft ride of a half ton so I'm on the fence. I think may just go for the big truck just to change it up.
My 150 is turning 10 this year, and I've resisted new truck fever for a looooong time. I will keep my new truck another 10 years if possible. Don't need a suet duty but I like being over gunned and I can afford it. The new 6.7 2nd generation is 440 Hp.
Thoughts? I could get another 150 as...
Slow but steady. I really didn't think I would make any progress this week. I had a few fast food binges. I am however spending 30min nearly every day on the recumbent bike which seems to be improving my energy and overall cardio without aggravating my knees too much.
