And that rabbit hole is immense. I have a closet full of fly tying and rod building equipment, supplies. You will never look at a game animal the same. Pheasant, grouse, chukar, deer elk, moose, ect. all become potental for new fly patterns.
Taurus tx22 is a great shooting pistol. Have put around 600-800 rounds through it in the last two years and have had very few issues with feed or function. I have found it to shoot most all standard and high velocity rounds well. You also can't go wrong with the Ruger single six or S&W K22 in...
If your rifle shoots one better than the other, I would go with the one most accurate. If both shoot well, then go with the 185 gr. My 338-06 shoots them both well, and I shoot the 185's.
We have used our game cart on old logging roads and other approved routes, but not all of Idaho allows their use. They are still considered to have a mechanized advantage with the wheel so are not allowed in wilderness areas. Often much of the areas we have been hunting recently are too steep...
Montana vs. Furman game is what college football SHOULD be all about. Great game with both teams giving it all they got while fans from both sides are going crazy in the stands. I don't have a dog in this race, but have enjoyed watching this game tonight more than any of the NIL rostered/Money...
Mmmmmm....gelatinous fish. This old Swede can relate. Much prefer the Potatiskorv (potato Sausage) over the Ludefisk from my Dad's side of the family. Mom's side makes dozens and dozens of gingerbread cookies. Some decorated in a way that might be considered PG 13, thanks to the younger...
My 338-06 shoots both the 185 gr. and 210 gr. Barnes TTSX bullets well. Both right at one MOA. Finding both can be a bit difficult with the 210 grain being a bit more available. Who did you have rebore your barrel?
Finally made it out after some chukkar and huns. My GSP, Rudy, is out with an injured front leg. So hunted with my buddy and his Visala, Penny. Definitely not the same hunting without your own dog, but had to get out and chase some birds. Found a nice pair of elk antlers along the way.
Best of luck to you on the remaining days of your hunt. Those Fallow bucks look like Richard got you into some beauties. Can't wait for a picture or two of a red and roe buck. I didn't know that sika were on the list in that part of the UK. Tell Richard that he hasn't changed a bit since my wife...
Glad you were able to keep a level head and make it out ok. Things can go south in a hurry this time of year. Wool pants and polar fleece provide an amazing amount of insulating properties even when soaking wet. Don't ask me how I know.
