    Hunting Clothes and scent control

My bit of advice, from November the 1st I'm out Monday-Friday, morning and evening until the end of March, hunting hard, dealing with the smelliest stinkiest red deer and my clothes stink, I have to keep them in the garage, god forbid the wife would wash them, damn it works even better when they...

Best of luck with your lifestyle changes. I would be more concerned with what too many pies do...

You Ever Get Turned Around In The Woods?

I would say where I live it's pretty unlucky if you get lost, Dartmoor, a kind of wilderness and national park is one place people get lost. Fog, combine it with panic and people can find themselves in trouble quickly. I was trekking with my mentor in fog on Dartmoor, came across a stream and he...

Alright you MT R doe killers, fess up.

OK, not living in the US, please educate me, why the reluctance to shoot doe's? We hammer as many female deer we can during the season to try and reduce the numbers. Are you doing the opposite because there aren't enough deer for hunting? Sorry I'm a bit confused. Cheers Richard

    Beware the Portland Pizza

He is bang on the money, when I cut through a tendon it took 3 months off work, physiotherapy, and in between visits to hospital self physiotherapy. My arm was in a removable cast so I could massage the tendon twice a day. No pizza involved, cutting off a deers head in the dark with a blunt...

what is the most under loved cut of meat

Just to give you some history, they originated in my neighbouring county of Cornwall, England, although if truth be told the Cornish regard themselves as Celts, well some hard liners do, and Celts are Scottish, Irish, Wales, Isle of Man and some other European parts....now get making your...

what is the most under loved cut of meat

Can't believe you have been to Mousehole (pronounced Muzzle!) and tasted the best pasties in the world. I do have a recipe from an award winning pasty maker, but I am sworn to secrecy! Of course Montana does have their own company, but looking at the recipe for the dough, it is slightly wrong...

what is the most under loved cut of meat

Shank, I put in the slow cooker for around 5 hours, then strip the meat with a fork (like you would with pulled pork) mix with bbq sauce and put it in a bap with caramelised onions. The skirt, I never save it in deer, but the easiest way, separate the eosophagus from the rear of the windpipe...

Deer hunting offer from the UK

Well, it's looking like another hunter off here will be crossing the pond to hunt with me, it will be October/November. Sadly this will be the last time I can offer this, but this member should get lucky in his quest for a Fallow buck if all the stars align. Cheers Richard

Montana Elk and Deer- By the Numbers

I didn't vote, I don't live in the US, but I have hunted Montana 4 times, the biggest surprise to me when I purchased my tag it wasn't compulsory to report your success, so how can harvested deer/elk be accurately calculated? Just a guessing game isn't it? Cheers Richard

    The Storms of Life

The good thing about Randy's videos, and it has been said many times before, he leaves in the mistakes, many don't. Regarding the missed shots, shooting at such an upward steep angle you hold under, I learnt this through my own experience and couldn't believe it. I discussed the video with one...
