You are correct, it does actually read that they cleaned it with the moderator still on, that is pretty stupid if that was the case. But, everyone I shoot with always remove them after shooting, including me, why take the chance of ruining the crown. They have been in common use in the UK for...

Most valuable hunting item under $100

Mine is stainless, not sure why you 'have to work at it' to get an edge, a few sweeps on my steel and its razor sharp again, I like the fact I can throw the sheath and knife in the dish washer and just use it again. I can do several deer without it needing a re-sharpen.

Most valuable hunting item under $100

What is an off season?;) Mine is a Mora knife, cost me £12 ($15) bright orange handle and sheath almost impossible to lose, but you do its cheap to replace

Got my friends son his first stag

15 stags came out, but only one stayed still long enough for a 175 standing shot off sticks, 6.5 swede 120g TTSX Barnes, dropped like a stone.

Beautiful day by the coast today doing my weekly park run, 26:59 for the 5k (best time so far this year), down another pound this week. Since my stent I bought a Garmin 45 forerunner, monitors my pulse and pace etc. What I forgot about was the 'alert', because the guy in front of me stopped at...

27:47 for the 5K Park Run today, over 500 runners (I squeezed in 237 position) down a bit more, 180lb today, if I could get under 168lb I will be happy

Moose hunting is not for me.

Its a Buck, some call them teddy bear deer, or vampire deer! The funny thing is, on very rare occasions the doe will have those 'fangs', and I was lucky on this trip to also get one of those, it fooled us as when we gralloched it a foetus fell out!

The perfect deer for Tom, a Chinese Water Deer weighing around 20lbs shot at sea level, not a hill in sight!:ROFLMAO:

    243 Twist Rate

That should work fine. My .243 Sako 75 has a 1:10 twist rate, I used 100g Speer and many said it wouldn't stabilise, but it did, however, I now use 80 grain Barnes TTSX and the groups have tightened up....a lot.

I bow to your superior knowledge, all I can say is silencers (or as we call them moderators) have been in common use in the UK for around 30 years with no restrictions on use or ownership, most hunters use them, and I don't know of any that leave them on the rifle after use. As for the...

    How many rounds?

Thats the same as me, can't afford to waste ammunition over in the UK, we just can't get the reloading components, primers are a nightmare to get hold of at the moment.

Wow, good on you, I'm knocking on the door of 63, impressed you're doing that at 73! Some impressive results chaps, keep it up. I must not push myself too hard but I did do my quickest 5k so far this year on Saturday, 27:29 200th place out of a field of 428. I'm surprised there are so few park...

The gasses that remain in the suppressor corrode the crown and and leach down inside the rifling, never store the rifle with it on after shooting

Just to advise, make sure you remove the 'silencer' from the rifle after use, otherwise the crown will be ruined in a short period of time
