This is what I use other than I throw the low drag sabots in the garbage and use a Harvester crush rib sabot. I was able to tighten up my groups with the Harvester sabot.
For Colorado I use the 350gr Hornaday FPB. They are a great elk bullet.
If the gun shop is good with it, I say go for it. I would definitely use an FFL to transfer it to your uncle once you get to Pennsylvania. That way you have nothing to worry about when the uncle gives it or sells it to someone else down the line, or it gets stolen.
In this day and age...
I'm an FFL and I can tell you I would never do this if I wanted to keep my license.
Read Question 21.a on the 4473 very carefully.
21.a. Are you the actual transferee/buyer of all of the firearm(s) listed on this form and any continuation sheet(s) (ATF Form 5300.9A)? Warning: You are not the...
So how can your uncle transfer a firearm to you if he has never filled out the original 4473 to take possession of it?

Sorry for your loss. I have a golden right now that sounds exactly like Sunny, best dog i've ever had. She's only 2.5YO so I hope to have many more good years with her.
Almost zero chance of getting away with it is what I said. Someone would have to be pretty stupid to try it. However, I don't put stupidity past some of the yahoos running around. I give him 75/25 odds of making it to sheding.
So, what happens with this buck? I haven't seen a buck this popular in a while. Seems like just about every guy in Wyoming is out taking pictures and video of him. What are the chances that his sheds last until May?
Luckily, there is almost zero chance of someone getting away with poaching...
For now, but it will swing the other way as soon as something happens, or the Big Guy starts talking about taking away guns. My thoughts have always been to get it while you can.
