Looking for advice on aoudad hunts - NM/TX

Makes me feel fortunate that I was able to go Auodad hunting when I did. I got a ewe and a ram in Texas and will probably never have another opportunity based on the growing demand. Just 6 years ago most people in Texas considered them trash now they are a trophy species.

I had the same thought. Makes me feel like a barbarian.

    Western Hunting Self-Promoter Identifying Traits

This is less an example of bad hunting ads and more of an example of why I think social media just generically sucks.

    Introducing Titan

Hey Duckslayer how many acres do you need to home enough goats for a small three to four pack goat to be used for the main purpose of hunting pack trips?

Population Growth and Hunting in Rocky Mountain States

It would be nice to directly tie game damage payments to having to allow for public access onto your land. It only makes sense that if wildlife is damaging your property you give game agencies an opportunity to mitigate that damage through hunting pressure. If it was strictly a tit for tat there...

Population Growth and Hunting in Rocky Mountain States

A global one or two child policy would help or instead of tax credit per child , you tax more for each child a family has to de-incentivize population growth.

Population Growth and Hunting in Rocky Mountain States

Yeah and a billion is too many. 100 more million than what we have is too many. 8 billion people on this planet is way too many we are going to consume all the fish in the sea and all the nutrients off the face of the earth at the rate we are going.

Population Growth and Hunting in Rocky Mountain States

Until we close all immigration both (legal and illegal) to this country we are going to continue to bust at the seams everywhere. This is a simple supply and demand problem. America only has supply for maybe 250 million people to live comfortably without taxing the resource, if we are careful...

    Case Against R3

Hunting will be for the rich only by the end of my life, there are just too many people who have a need and desire and the supply of the resource is not great enough to meet that demand. The political will to do something about it would not come from the feds unless we got another Teddy...

    Idaho Unit 8A Moose!!!

Pretty consistent trend people asking for advice about an area or unit and then they don’t bother to update how their hunt went.

    Case Against R3

Hunting is divided by socio economic status well before it is divided by race. Your family’s wealth and proximity to public land is more of a factor whether you do things in the outdoors rather than race.

Before I put in for Idaho moose...

That is correct there are only three antlerless tags for the whole state in one unit. And those three tags are only for residents.

Before I put in for Idaho moose...

There are moose but not a lot of mature ones. Average spread is around 30-36 inches per game and fish and there is a lot of roads and trails in that unit. On the other side Idaho gives almost two and a half months to fill the tag on bulls so a lot of time to look.
