"FWP administrator Ken McDonald said the department was still developing an elk plan, and he anticipated a draft plan would be out by this fall."
"McDonald and Worsech indicated the elk plan could change a fair amount by the time it...
I think solutions will take a long time but I agree we need to be doing more if we can. I like the education bit as well but I can't help but wonder how most people consume information. Social media of course but it doesn't seem like everyone follows a conservation organization to stay up to...
Oh I must have retyped that response like several times 😅 and I still don't think I got it right.
I agree no side is perfect but we have to hold politicians accountable.
I know 6 people that regret voting for Gianforte and won't be voting again for him in the future..... supposedly. Sadly a lot of hunters have no idea what's going on (or don't care) and some that do see the changes, don't understand where the changes are coming from.
Who knows what other...

I can't believe how long it took me to submit comments because there were that many changes. Hopefully enough people comment to show that some of these changes are awful.
Is it worth emailing the commissioners a short email as well? I'm not even sure what to say.
I've also asked about that inaccessible elk objective question. I've gotten 3 different answers.
"How do we know those elk are inaccessible?"
"When I'm counting, it's really hard to determine land boundaries and I don't know if those elk are on private land. "
"Well, there was actually an...
"You're doing it all for you" I think that captures the feeling pretty well.
For the most part, I don't feel that "I gotta get something" feeling anymore.
I kind of fell into the trap of trying to out do myself by getting a bigger animal than my last, but it is nice to just sit and watch...
I agree with this. I've been getting tripped up trying to come up with solutions though....since I'm not a wildlife biologist, I don't really have the answers or know what a better idea would look like in some cases but I know that a certain proposal being suggested doesn't seem like a solution...
I attended the region 3 and 2 CAC meetings on zoom. I wish there was a meeting in Missoula but I think the virtual meetings had good questions. The Region 3 meeting had way more people speaking up than Region 2 and it was nice to hear senator Pat Flowers asking good questions along with...
I was so busy writing down notes from the meeting that I kind of missed the answer to why the change but I do know someone from FWP said something about staffing issues making it difficult to keep up with checking bears. Taking up too much time I suppose. I'm not sure how true that is though...
Kind of coming fresh off the region 3 zoom meeting, there was the mention of doing away with bringing in a harvested black bear to a FWP official to inspect the bear and collect information. The suggested change is to require the hunter to collect a tooth and call in to report the harvest. I...
