    I think so as well. I would have liked to have given him another year or two but the yotes are just too thick where I hunt. I had him shoulder mounted; it was on a two week hunt exactly this time of year. Thanksgiving week has always been good here.

    Some good cooks here! Tonight I made whitetail backstrap stir fry with a Japanese bbq sauce reduction over coconut jasmine rice. I used three different types of onions and a yellow and orange pepper; regret not adding a red or green for color.

    I’m on the border of San Saba and Cherokee. It was a bit frosty this morning. Lots of deer movement. I saw a pretty good buck jump the fence and onto the neighbors. Had a hog and a cottontail come into camp last night.

    This is what I was going to suggest. I just drape a wool blanket over the cot or sleeping pad and found it makes a huge difference. I do need a better pad though.

    Thanks! I use to build them and had around a dozen at one time. I built this one around the time I started shooting less but it still has around 5k through it. I think the lower has around 25-30k on it now though.
