Good thread! Not sure where I stand, probably somewhere in the middle as I see both sides perspectives. Pricing trips to Hawaii and Vegas are more expensive and you don’t come back with anything more than a tan or herpes.
I also realized I speak to people at work just like buzz does here, I...
Made the trip to pick up her meat from the processor today. I pretty much do all my own but am glad we dropped this one off as we all started getting the flu/covid a few days later. I had 104 temp for about two days and sat at 100 off and on for about two weeks it seemed. No way I was processing...
Having a snow skirt helps a lot, though the tent the OP asked about doesn’t appear to have one. In that case I would try to put logs or even rocks and dirt as a wind block if I could. The updraft helps with condensation but if it’s too much it’s no bueno.
I also guy out my stove pipe now...
That’s sort of what I’m thinking. My pre yeti MR packs may be worth double what I paid in a year or two.
I just hiked with a new one today, I better baby it in the morning and put it back in the box when I get home. 😬
I’m KIDDING!!! Sort of….
Maybe go on texashuntingforum and ask. I suspect this time of year the only fresh ones you’ll get will come of a MLD ranch other than that it’ll be ones from a freezer.
I don’t have the gram so the video won’t play but I can guess! Most guys buy a gun and never prove it before battle. Back in the day but not far back enough, I had a few Kimbers. One full sized that worked and worked, can’t remember why I sold it. I had two custom shop guns that crapped out on...
I threw the probed one in but the probe was still in it so I could watch the temp, it’s the shortest of all of them so I’ll be able to keep track of it. It’s rarely cold enough here unfortunately.
I think I want to try snack sticks this summer.
They came out kinda ugly but that’s ok, so am I. My solution for the busted ones was to cut in half and throw in a ziplock then into the ice bath. Still not bad for only my second time making summer sausage.
I may be on the other end of the spectrum, but I don’t clean my AR barrels unless I fell into water with them or been in a heavy rain. I just keep the BCG lubed and clean every 2-5k rounds.
This has not always been my standard practice but what I have adopted as my SOP over a couple of decades...
