Great job! I think it’s neat you did the lower jaw too. The power washer is a good investment if you keep the heads of all your bucks. Also a propane turkey fryer and pot.
I’ve saved myself a lot of money by doing my own. I actually did three bucks today two had been in my freezer for two years.
Randy is responsible for me getting into western hunting. I’ve only drawn two tags since 2019 though. I spend money on points, I sent the elk foundation $250 this year and have spent lots of money in the towns near my hunt units. I try to contribute more every year in some way.
I do get what...
All of them; I want all of them.
Though I’ve really been considering a short bolt gun in 300blk, a modern bolt gun in 6mm and a nice wood stocked bolt gun in a 257 variant or 25’06.
A 12” barreled AR in 6.5 Grendel would be fun.
Kids getting sick during the worst possible time is the ultimate test of one’s fortitude. I’ve canceled a lot of trips because of it.
Mine held the shed I found yesterday when I got home today.
I dig that Taj Mahal!
The sun came out and it got HOT! I bet it was close to 80. I was sweating in the pop up and resorting to stripping down a bit. 😂
The deer started pouring out of the woods though. I think I had nine in front of me at the end and had to wait a while for a clear shot.
This is the 10pt that I made...
Yesterday morning started out cool and drizzly. I started out in my little pop up but moved to an open tripod in another area mid day to try and rattle one in, only two young bucks came running in but it’s still fun.
I told her I was gonna shoot the 10 if I saw it this week, the look of pure anger in her eyes she gave me was worth the laugh.
She’s been spoiled, her first two deer were bigger than every buck I killed for the first five years or more that I hunted. Now it’s time for her to learn some...
I just randomly flashed my light behind camp and spotted a big bobcat. I followed it for a bit as it didn’t seem to concerned with me. It’s been years since I’ve seen one, very cool!
I’m finally on my first solo hunt of the year after hunting with my wife last week. I made her pass up a four year old 10pt the first evening in hopes we’d see something better; we didn’t and she was a bit miffed at me.
Anyway I’m back out at my cabin fighting the mice. Seen four younger bucks...
