Got 2 out of 3 with this photo...catch light in the dogs eyes and the landscape we hunt.
Did not get below the dog eye-level because I wanted to catch that rainbow and the landscape.
"Catch Light" in this Golden Pup eye as another example.
By moving to the right with the sun more to my back, I could throw the bumper out and
capture the "catch light" in both eyes.
Sometimes by moving a few feet the photo can be improved substantially.
When taking retriever photos with my cell phone, I aim for 3 easy objectives:
Place the phone slightly below the dog
Capture the landscape we are hunting in
Capture the "catch light" in the dogs eyes
This photo was from our hun hunt this morning.
Missoula was the epicenter in the movie with fishing on the nearby Blackfoot east of Missoula and Brad Pitt's character gambling west of Missoula at Lolo Hot Springs.
I was surprised that U of Montana was not on the list, especially after the movie "A River Runs Through It"
Also Utah State with fly fishing just up Logan Canyon and access the the Green River below Flaming Gorge.
Another option is a used "bridge camera" which has a zoom lens fixed to the body.
I took these photos with a used Fujifilm finepix 9400 and a used Nikon P900 which
are relatively inexpensive, so it would not break my heart if they drowned in a rain storm.
