I had forgot about this: I got my Dalls Sheep and I had brought two heavy army surplus tote bags, boned and froze the meat and put it in one and put the horns and my personal items in the other I was only out the air fare for me and my rifle.. This would work for a mule deer hunt. For elk I...
Flying is about the only way to hunt Northern BC and Alaska and it will add 30-35% to the cost. Part of the adventure is the drive when hunting in the lower states. I have driven to Anchorage twice and it is like driving from Denver to San Francisco and back 3 times but it sure was interesting.
I was more interested in the flying. I just watched an interview with the pilot ( Frank Weisser ?) a retired Navy Commander and ex-Blue Angle who did the low level and canyon flying. He was less than 15' in several instances. He was an active Navy pilot when he flew the movie scenes. He gives...
I trapped muskrats, stretched them and hung them to dry in our apartment. Paid my tuition. My new wife was a trooper about it and we still laugh about it.
todays my birthday..got the following:
" guy about your age found a frog in the woods
"kiss me". said the frog"and I will turn into a
beautiful princess and do anything you want".
The man picked up the frog and put it in his pocket.
"HEY ! the frog yelled "I said I would do anything you want"...

Do any of you remember Jim Bond ? He was like Gordon Eastman in that he took some incredible movies and went around showing them in high school auditoriums. He wrote several books and darn it I got rid of all that stuff before I realized their value to me. He had a couple of Alaska videos/mpvies...
Must be the Idaho woodpeckers..peckers got sore ?
The ones doing the most damage are little black/white guys. They don't make any noise but boy can they drill fast ! Flickers are around also there are 7 different types of woodpeckers in the Denver area........all wanting to eat MY HOUSE ! grrrrr
Thank you to all that responded. From your excellent advise I have contacted to have a Dryvit system installed over my existing one. I have talked to a number of people in the area that have used it and all reported excellent, permanent results. It is expensive but THIS WHAT I WANTED FOR...
Having a hard time with woodpeckers drilling holes in my house siding which is a Drivet (sp) type (stucco over styrofoam). Nothing I have tried seems to faze them... Any ideas ? They are a protected bird so I can't shoot them and I live in a subdivision. Any suggestion will be most appreciated !
I got an email from a guy who said he represented Hunt Talk and that I had won a free subscription. I had to respond in 5 days....Pretty sure it was one kind of scam.
