We did pretty good for our first year as residents. This will be my wife’s first year to ever hunt.
Picked up some third choice antelope tags, a few whitetail tags, a couple cow elk tags, I’ll pick up general elk and deer tags, and the cream of the crop came when my wife’s first ever...
As much as I enjoy hunting Colorado and especially rutting mule deer, Colorado is getting nixed for me. It might change one day if I ever have to leave WY but for now the ever increasing cost and the inevitable reduction of NR tags it’s getting it nixed. We will have enough tags between WY and ID.

Then just go do a camping/hiking/glassing/fishing trip in Colorado.
Good luck Doug. I hope you find you some. I picked up a tag this year but not sure if I’ll have time to hunt them. It’s a 4 hour ride or better just to get to places where I can hunt them. I would love to go over to the black hills but that’s a long trip.
I don't think I fall into the category of elk slayers as there are far better ones on here however here are my thoughts.
