Jasper itself is a true tragedy. Thankful they were able to evacuate everyone but praying for all of those impacted and working on the situation.
As far as your other comments, like I said, not saying we aren't impacting it and we should always try to make the least impact possible. We may even...
I was just there two weeks ago. Sad to see it happening but fires are a natural process. Doesn't make losing all the buildings and infrastructure any less devastating but natural.
What's not natural, as others has stated, is the amount of fuel on the ground to burn as we limit natures ability...
If anyone is on the fence about jumping in and going hunting with Matt, just know he and his goats are good luck. Don't leave your bow on the ground around them but they are definitely good luck.
Can't wait to see how the hunt goes for you big guy!
No luck for me or my kid...I thought for sure he would get his youth tag.
If anyone wants to tie a deer up for a kid to shoot on the general tag let me know. ;) Otherwise we will go try to find one somewhere.
Congrats on that one Buzz! That should be fun.
First year for my oldest boy to hunt here in WY. Hoping he can bring us some luck in the draw as I never have any. My wife always has had the luck but she only wanted in on moose and elk this year. 🤞🏻
I still have yet to kill one with a gun as I haven't hunted them with a gun but love picking them off in the mountains chasing elk with a bow. I have caught a couple by hand. I did kill my first sage grouse with a bow this year as well.
Welcome and I hope you both actually have a great hunt this fall. I have hunted archery there several times but never rifle. I would just buy and OTC tag and go on a road trip exploring the state. Look at the travel corridors on the CPW hunt map and then it's all up to the weather and the pressure.
