    I love Colorado but

Grew up hunting and fishing around Abingdon. Never made it that far south unfortunately. Miss that part of the world.

    Southern Wyoming Camping/fishing?

Wow. That’s awesome guys. Thanks. After taking a quick look at the Snowies, they’ll serve as a great consolation prize to make up for the lack of blue crabs, redfish, waves, and putt-putt. Now it’s time to go find me some turkeys and pike!

    Southern Wyoming Camping/fishing?

Just found out we’re going to have to cancel our trip home to visit with my folks at the beach this summer (too risky for my old man). My boys are pretty bummed they won’t be able to go crabbing and fishing with grandpa so I’m trying to come up with another trip. Assuming they can make it out...

    fun learning wyoming fishing

I don’t have much experience spin fishing for trout, but I’d suggest finding some medium sized streams to learn on. Those are the places I like taking buddies who are learning. The fishing is typically a little more consistent because the fish aren’t as pressured as they are in larger rivers and...

    New Fly Boxes

I’ve been selling basic boxes with no carving or maple for $75. I think I’ll ask another $15 if you’d like the top textured, maple inlaid similar to what I did for my box above, or a box with a stone top. I can use foam or cork strips on the inside. Both work well, but the foam is probably a...

My first buck Euro mount complete, finally

Great start to your hunting career. Hope this season goes similarly for you. Like what you did with the oak. I hope to drive some back from Virginia in a couple months if this Covid stuff slows down.

Looking for a lab in MT

Don’t know much about labs. We got our golden from Ponderay out of Douglas, but her dad came from here - http://trievensungoldkennels.com/ I didn’t have any contact with Trieven, but got a reference for them when researching kennels. Looks like they’ve got a couple lab litters planned for this...

    New Fly Boxes

Yup. It’ll only cost you $5/fly, but all I can tie is worms, eggs, and caddis

    New Fly Boxes

It’s not too bad with some practice. Bubbles are the biggest issue. Sealing the wood and rocks really helps. The initial goal was to make a kitchen table similar to my box above with the blue. I figured it would be a good idea to practice on some smaller pieces before I ruined a couple thousand...

    New Fly Boxes

Yup. A couple are already spoken for but most are fair game. I’ve got another batch of 20 or so tops that I’ll be finishing tomorrow or a Wednesday before moving on to making the boxes this weekend (assuming fishing doesn’t get it in the way...).

    New Fly Boxes

Thanks. I’m definitely a little more cautious while changing flies these days. Here’s the two I carry around with me (photo credit: Marcus Hockett).

    New Fly Boxes

Started a little side hustle making fly boxes last summer. Finally got some decent weather to work on a few tops this weekend. Been tinkering with some new ideas that are turning out pretty good.

Just when you think it can’t get any worse.
