Thank you. It was difficult to figure out what all I needed to order. I wanted to make this easier for the next guy.
It's amazing how accurate these guns are with open sights.

6 Shot 200 Yards - This was with me just holding over and trying to figure out...
For anyone interested here is what a Peep with a cross-hair insert looks like on a Knight Ultra-Light.

I feel bad even posting it but I was one of the lucky ones that drew with 2 points.
Either 23 Late Rifle or 10 Late Rifle for me. According to gohunt that was .6% and 3.2% odds of drawing those tags.
Looking forward to chasing elk in AZ even if they are late busted up bulls!
I was in your same position last year. My gun will shoot sub MOA with open sights. I'm not sure what your budget is but here is the details I put together on rokslide forum.
**Update for those ordering look at midway usa and the Colorado version ($912-$935), it should have the front sight...
I wore some Merrill boots for the last 4 years and bought Kenetrek's after my NM elk hunt this year.
The Merrell's were great when on trail but I rolled my ankle more than once this year and decided I needed more support. Time will tell if I made the right call but I don't want to go home...
I had the same question and just called Knight. They suggested the Ultra-Lite. His reasoning that they are both great rifles and if you are going to be walking around at all the weight is great. In his words you won't notice much more recoil from the Ultra-Lite.

Just a heads up for anyone wanting to tan the hide. I'm going to send mine to sebring tanning in Fl (http://www.sebringcustomtanning.com/). They did my gator and do a fantastic job. They said a buffalo with hair on will cost around $200-$250. You have to clean it and salt it before you ship it...

At $3 a pound that's $900 to cut and wrap then I'm curious what they charge to ship...
I just found out I drew a non-trophy bison tag. I'm very excited and curious about what the cost ended up being to use their butcher and taxidermist?
What did it run you to have the hide tanned and shipped? What about having the meat packed up and shipped?
I'm coming from Houston so trying...
