Ive never been to Dayton, but I love Sheridan. Its damn expensive, especially with property. Id like to get at least 20 acres if it all works out. I dont think MT state taxes are too bad, but definitely another expense I would need to add in.

I am in agreement. Making over 100k with a federal job isnt an easy accomplishment either. Its a tough call.

I drive 6-7 hours a day for my current job, so I dont mind being on the road. Im also being paid for those hours, so its a little easier. My family is always number 1 and I want my kids to be safe with a descent school. Sounds like driving through the Rez everyday will be a nightmare though.

I think you're right on the money. GPS has it at 1 hr 17 mins. Thats a long haul everyday and even longer on bad roads. Takes a lot of time away from family time. It gives me something to think about. Im greatful for all of the information ive received, puts a lot into perspective. Thank you.

There is a small school in ft smith they could go to, but i dont imagine it being a great time for them either way. Sucks, its a great paying job, and now I am seeing why.

Ive never taken the road. I didnt know it was gravel. Yeah, that sounds like a disaster. Seems like Ranchester is the best option, but thats still a hell of a drive. They might have govt employee housing in ft smith, but thay would feel like living on an island.

I was looking it up. It's less miles from bridger, but faster from ranchester. Only by about 5 or 10 minutes, though. I appreciate the insight. Ive only driven through the Crow once.

Outside of living on the Rez, there arent many options. Ranchester or Bridger seem to be the best. Im dreading the commute as well

I appreciate the information. I use to work up by the reservation between Missoula and Polson back in the early 2000's. It wasnt a great place either. I think a drive either way would be more beneficial to my family than living next to the rez.

Bridger isnt necessarily out of the price range. Does hwy 91 close often?

If I get the job, it would be at the Bighorn Nation park in Ft Smith. Its a long drive from any of the areas. Its a highly competitive position that im excited to possibly get.

I have put a lot of thought into ranchester. It would be about 1 hr 15 min drive from there. I could keep my Wyoming residence as well.

I could possibly be moving back to Montana this year if a job comes through. I havent hunted or lived in Montana since 2008. The job would bring me to the southern part of the state. Im looking at a few towns that Ive only driven through, was wondering if anyone on here lived in those areas and...

    Great Social Media posts?

It looks like a tranq gun and I believe you can see a dart sticking out of the hind quarter on the cat when it runs by. Probably a biologist taking measurments/tracking collar.

My second wife was a horse girl in Montana. Hot as F, but stubborn as a mule and as mean as a rattlesnake.
